Pastor Alph Lukau, head pastor Alleluia Ministries church is known to Africans as the pastor who brought a man back from the dead. Soon after the video was released, it sparked a ResurrectionChallenge across the continent.
A few days after the video went viral, pastor Lukau has denied having the power to raise a man from the dead. He insists that the man was alive when he was brought into the church.
This revelation was made during his interview at the PowerFM’s Power Drive with Thabiso Tema. According to him, it was during his sermon that he was informed of a man who had arrived the church in a coffin.
“Before entering the premises of the church, the coffin began to shake, meaning the person was alive,”
Lukau explained. It was then he prayed that the man should rise.
At this point, the radio host asked why it was his church that was chosen. He saisd,
“I am not sure if I can make a statement that he was brought to me. We are the house of God and I’m just a pastor serving in the house of the Lord.”
To top it up, he claimed that he does not have the power to raise the dead “except God used me as an instrument”.
“I can safely say and clarify that I did not pray to resurrect the person, I don’t want to take that credit. Should God ask me to resurrect somebody and give me grace and the power, by faith I will try that,”
said Lukau.
On the height of him being sued by the mortuary service, Kings and Queens Funeral service, his church has issued a statement claiming that there was no resurrection.
