After naming Jay Z the first billionaire hip hop artist, Forbes reveals Rihanna’s massive $600 million net worth and names her the richest female musician in the world. Rihanna has overtaken other female artistes with equally impressive fortunes like Madonna, Celine Dion, and Beyonce who respectively have a net worth of $570 million, $450 million and $400 million.
Her staggering success greatly stems from her venture into the beauty and fashion world. The Umbrella singer created a name for herself by including women of diverse shapes and colours in her brand. Her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty offers over 40 shades of foundation unlike other beauty companies that offers just few. Within a year of establishing the brand, the company became a multi-million dollar company with an estimated worth of $570 million and is currently worth $3 billion according to Forbes.
Just like her mentor and friend Jay Z, Rihanna knows how to sniff out and invest in lucrative businesses. The 9 times Grammy award winning musician also partnered with LVMH, leading her to build a fashion line that’s based in Paris. She also went on to create the Savage X Fenty lingerie line that includes a vast range of sizes.
Before naming her the world’s richest female musician, Forbes also placed Rihanna in the 37th position in their list of richest self-made women in America. The list features the likes of prominent women like Serena Williams, Kylie Jenner and Oprah Winfrey.
Citing Rihanna’s rocky past: the battery she faced in the hands of her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown and the maltreatments she endured from her abusive father, Forbes notes that Rihanna has stood strong against all these hardships to become the wealthy and influential woman she is today.
The ‘work work work’ crooner definitely deserves all the accolades coming her way. Probably as a way of celebrating herself, she lives a lavish life in a UK mansion that is worth an astonishing 30 million pounds.
