Badoo
A dating app that uses location to set people up. You can find mutual people based on gender, location, age, and interests. Badoo allows for an in-app photo rating.
It is said that Badoo has about 314 million users in Nigeria. With the majority of the users located in Lagos and Abuja.
Although its popularity has decreased, Badoo was once the most-used dating app in Nigeria.
Friendite
Founded by Emmanuel Okeke. A Nigerian who started Friendite in order to provide a bespoke dating service for Nigerians and Africans. Friendite is yet to gain nationwide popularity like some of the dating apps on this list. Although viable, Friendite is only available for android users.
Zoosk
Zoosk is a dating app internationally recognized in more than 60 countries and available in over 20 languages. It uses users’ behavioral patterns to match them with users with similar behavioral patterns. Compared to Tinder, Zoosk is yet to grab the Nigerian audience. But unlike Friendite, Zoosk is available for download on iOS and Android mobiles, and Windows operating systems.
NAIJing
Dating app specifically for Nigerians. With only a mobile version, it allows to match by liking a picture. Started in 2014, it is yet to get any grounds in Nigeria. NAIJing like Friendite is only available for android phones.
