We all know that man or woman who goes to the gym, jogging, or home exercise, and immediately they’re done they go into the kitchen, devouring anything in sight. Although, this might just be an err from the person’s side, science has proved that we tend to be hungrier after a rigorous exercise.

Eating after working out is not a problem, but choosing what to eat is the real problem. People do not know what to eat. This is why they tend to eat whatever is in sight.

Here are foods you shouldn’t eat after a workout.

Sugary Drinks

Drinks like beverages, pre-packaged juices, etc., are bad for your health. The added sugar in the will counter-act on the workout. Never ever drink soda after a workout. Your body needs to hydrate, and the best way to do this is by drinking water. Not only is the sugar and preservatives in these foods bad for you, they make you bloat instantly.

Fatty Foods

Skip the oils, seeds, anything fried, and even nuts after your workout. Fat acts to slow the digestion process in the gut and will, therefore, delay the delivery of much-needed nutrients into the muscles. Especially trans-fat which are found in processed foods.

Fast Food

From the name brands like Chicken Republic to the Mama Put who operates down the street. Do whatever you can to stay away. While you may crave salt after working out, fast food options won’t be good at replenishing your body. You’ll be consuming trans fats and basically undoing your workout.

Sports Drinks

Sports drinks are marketed as energy drinks good for replenishing your system after a work, but the proof is in the ingredients. The high sugar content in sports drinks make them more harmful to the body. Drink water or natural coconut water to replenish yourself when you feel drained.

Alcohol

Are you in the habit of consuming alcohol after working out, this is dangerous for you. One particularly feels lightheaded after a workout, eating a healthy meal and drinking water is the best way to replenish. Alcohol can be linked to high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke, heart attack, etc.
