The Love week is over and that time to indulge in the sweet pleasures of greasy food and extra calories is over. There are promises made to that body that needs to be kept.
You might find it somewhat difficult because lapse in a day or two might usher in days of perpetual laziness to flex your muscles and engage in a little physical activity but do not worry, here are tips that can help you stick to your exercise and make you fall back in line with plans made at the beginning of the year.
Exercise For Yourself
Do not exercise because you want to look good for someone or you want to copy a celebrity, the zeal to work out will ebb as soon as the next interesting thing catches your attention. Exercise as part of a natural thing you must do like eating and you will find yourself doing it without groaning or murmuring.
Do Not Start By Doing Too Much
Taking baby steps is a sure way to ensure that you stick with your work out routine. Do not start out by taking on ridiculous challenges, you will find yourself ‘backsliding’ as quickly.
Focus On The Present
Do not keep decrying the days you missed work outs or the days that you over indulged in the food that you promised that you wouldn’t eat. Rather focus on the present and leave the past behind. Focus and get back into the routine
Do not give yourself unrealistic targets, testimonies of people who got abs in a week may not work out well for you. Gradually increase your workout schedule and tasks.
Keep a record of your progress or a journal. For instance note how much time you exercise and what work outs you have done. Keep track of how much weight you have lost and perhaps before and after pictures of yourself.
Sticking to a work out is not easy but remember if you have a busy schedule, you might not have the luxury of time so choose what works best for you.
