Yet another celebrity marriage crash that many people were not expecting—Adele’s split from Simon Konecki, her husband of three years. Adele said her vows to Konecki, an investment banker and philanthropist, in 2016 after dating him for five years. It was a secret marriage that most of the public only got to know about when she mentioned her “husband” in a gratitude speech at the 2017 Grammys award.
As a couple who like keeping their personal lives private, they have refused to make any comments about the split. Although, the London singer’s representatives Carl Fysh and Benny Tarantini made it known in an emailed statement to Associated Press that Adele and her partner “are committed to raising their son together lovingly.” Their son’s name is Angelo, born in 2012.
Just a few weeks ago, people were speculating that Adele is cooking up a new album as she was spotted walking into a recording studio in New York. And what drops next not long after is the announcement of her split-up. This news has lighted a spark on Twitter. Reactions are coming from various corners on Twitter. While some fans express their sadness about the news, some others choose to see the good it will bring—inspiration for another great album about love and heartbreak from the bestselling singer.
Coming from a Twitter user, Mahwash Ajaz
“Adele separates from Husband Simon Konecki after eight years. Sigh. Bad for anyone who still believes in everlasting love. Great for another album.”
“Adele just split from her husband. I think we all know what happens next… THE SADDEST MUSIC KNOWN TO MAN.”
“Adele is getting a divorce. Sam Smith’s ex is living with Richard Madden. Now all we need is for someone to ghost Sufjan Stevens and the divine trinity of sadness will be in perfect alignment to restore depression to its former glory!!!”
tweeted Phillip Henry.
Haha, these tweets may come across as funny or mean but Adele’s fans do know her. Most of her songs, especially the ones that brought her to the limelight, were inspired by heartbreak. Remember ‘Someone Like You’? A follow up to that song is probably in the works already. Truly,
“sometimes it lasts in love and sometimes it hurts instead.”
No matter what though, we hope Adele never ceases to find love.
