The honeymoon phase of your marriage is most likely the time when you wouldn’t need any advice to appreciate your wife. During this phase, you’re still on cloud nine and showering her with love and affection.
But as time goes on and life returns to normal. A new routine will begin to set in. Things will become boring. In this phase, it is easy to take her for granted. It is easy to overlook all the things you found fascinating about her.
When we show our significant others just how much we appreciate them, it can mean the world to them. Here are 5 things you should consider doing to show your wife that you appreciate her:
Little Things Matter
Now, that you’re married and settled in, the routine starts. And things like chores become a big deal. Nobody likes doing the chores, especially after a long day of work or taking care of kids. It shouldn’t feel as if she’s dreading you coming back from work because she’d have to cook, clean, and wash up after you.
A simple way to fix this is to do little chores around the house without being told so. Take out the trash. Make the bed. These little things will mean a lot to her.
Do you usually wait for her birthday to get her a gift? You might have to rethink that. A gift doesn’t have to be expensive, it just has to be thoughtful. Gifts are a love language of many; make it frequent and random.
Tell Her You Appreciate Her
Sometimes the best way we can show someone appreciation is by telling them! If you aren’t good with your words and have a hard time verbally expressing emotions, try writing her a love letter instead. Another great idea is to leave sticky notes around the house that she’ll find throughout the week.
By simply telling your loved one how much you appreciate all she does for you, she will feel loved and special. Try saying thank you when she picks up around the house or puts a lot of thought into the lunches that she makes for you. Acknowledging things that you normally don’t talk about will make her feel like you see and appreciate all of the little things she does for you.
Spend Time With Her
Life can get busy quickly. Especially when you both work busy jobs and also have busy schedules, it can be difficult to find time to spend together. If the only quality time you get to yourselves is when you lay down to go to sleep, it may be time to prioritize date nights and quality time.
Don’t be of the assumption that gift-giving is the only way to get to her. Sometimes, quality time with just the both of you is enough.
Be Loving And Affectionate
The last way you can show your wife how much you appreciate her is simply by giving her more affection. If she enjoys physical touch, this is a great way to show appreciation.
It is easy to overlook the old love but always keeps being affectionate, kind, and romantic.
