And this summer is chock-full of exciting movies that almost everyone have been sitting tight for since 2018. You definitely don’t want to miss out on seeing these top 10 movies that will be out this summer:
1. X-Men: Dark Phoenix (June 7)
Number 1 of the top 10 movies airing this summer is Dark Phoenix is Marvel’s sequel to 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse. And in this installment, Sophie Turner or if you like, Sansa Stark is the lead star. She will be acting alongside other stars like Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Evan Peters, and Nicholous Hoult.
2. Men in Black: International (June 14)
Another movie that made the top 10 movies of 2019 summer is Men in Black. Not your regular Men in Black series, expect sizzling hot scenes with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson who star as Agent H and Agent M respectively. In this spin-off, both secret agents will be traveling around the world as they attempt to solve a murder mystery.
3. Child’s Play (June 21)
Hey, lovers of the creepy and the gothic, Chucky is back with a bang. Child’s Play is a new remaking of the original 1988 film. Starring as Chucky and Karen Barclay are Mark Hamill—the popular Luke Skywalker from Star Wars and Aubrey Plaza.
4. Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 5)
About time our screen came alive with a well-blended mixture of Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jake Gyllenhall. Gyllenhall will be acting as the villain Mysterio, how exciting is that?
5. The Lion King (July 19)
And who do we have in this CGI remake of the Lion King? Beyonce and Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino. Beyonce stars as Nala while Donald is Simba.
6. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (July 26)
A Quentin Tarantino film starring two big guns: Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. It’s got to be nothing short of amazing.
7. The New Mutants (August 2)
Marvel absolutely knows how to make us marvel. They will be lighting up our screens again with another GoT star, Maisie Williams. This horror film that centers on some “mutant” kids who are forcefully isolated from the rest of the world due to their secret powers promises to be damn scary.
8. Artemis Fowl (August 9)
People are already talking about Disney’s adaptation of a children’s book. Will it be a carbon copy of the book? That’s what almost everyone is asking. We’d find out soon enough!
9. Where’d You Go Bernadette (August 9)
Another book-to-film adaptation starring Care Blanchett. Blanchett will be playing the role of Bernadette Fox, a witty mother who mysteriously disappears from her loving family.
10. It: Chapter Two (September 6)
Yes, more book-to-film adaptation. However, this is a sequel to the 2016’s It–still starring Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, the clown who eats children.
