It is time to get immersed in the kick-ass world of Jessica Pearson. The long-awaited spin-off of Suits titled Pearson is finally here—premiered on July 17, 2019.
It is already three episodes gone and so far, Jessica Pearson, the titular character of the series has not disappointed her fans. She is still the smart, manipulative, ruthless, solutions-driven, fashionable and no-nonsense problem-solver she was known for in Suits.
Pearson focuses on Jessica Pearson’s power struggles in the mayor office. Challenges she faces trying to win at all cost while maintaining her ethical values at the same time. It is a whole new world for Jessica Pearson and unlike in Suits where everyone bowed to her, she’s got to earn herself some respect and love here. And her co-workers, especially city attorney Keri Allen isn’t about to make things easy for her.
Although Jessica Pearson is central to Mayor Novak’s fixing team, her teammates are not leaving the ball in her hands. But Pearson, being the opportunist and smart-ass she is, knows how to snatch the ball whenever she can and run her own game. She is good at what she does but her skin is black and that identity alone constantly takes an emotional toll on her in the economically divided, politically territorial and segregated Chicago city.
However, the dirty world of Chicago politics is not the only place Jessica Pearson is trying to find her foot in. She is also trying to reconnect with her estranged family following the death of her father. There’s a certain depth to Jessica Pearson in Pearson that was absent in Suits. Fans of the smart as nails Jessica Pearson will definitely have a good time watching this spin-off.
