On bagging a Ph.D. from Unilag, popular comedienne and talented On-air personality Helen Paul, took to Instagram to express her heartfelt gratitude. The mother of three dedicated her doctorate degree to her mother, she wrote:
“I HELEN PAUL dedicate this to my mum, you gave birth to me out of rape, they told you I wouldn’t amount to anything.”
“I grew up hearing from family members; being called a “Bastard” and each time I asked you, you said ‘Olorun lon wo omo were, Olorun ma wo e‘ (meaning God watches over the child of a mad person, he’d watch over you).
“Mummy I want you to know I love you, I might not buy you Benz now because I don’t have a `Pant’ yet but this certificate will amount to something great.
“They say Fame is nothing but Grace is everything and I pray for grace in everything I do.
“I’m not a Cele member but Late Oshofa gave me the name and everything Late Oshofa said about Helen Paul is coming to pass.
“I dedicate this to every mother, may God make you strong enough to survive and enjoy the fruit of your labour.”
The hardworking Helen Paul, popularly known as Tatafo, has worked in numerous media houses in Nigeria and according to reports, is the first stand-up comedian to become a Ph.D. holder.
She stands as living proof to the popular saying by Brian Tracy Quotes
“where you come from doesn’t matter, the only thing that matters is where you are going.”
She is relentless in both her educational and career pursuits. Besides this doctorate degree she recently received, she also has Masters degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration.
Added to that are certifications from institutions like Pan-African University, School of Media and Communications and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.
Guess it’s only graceful wins for Helen Paul, buying a Benz for her mum is most likely the next agenda.
