Kizz Daniel started it all. He released a track titled Fvck You and it’s been a series of controversial issues for a number of celebrities who took up the fvck you challenge. Tiwa’s cover of the song has earned her some major backlash from some of her followers on social media and the media in general. The lyrics that have sparked mixed reactions from people who claim Tiwa is subbing either Tee Billz, her ex-husband or Wizkid, goes this way:
“Bobo you no get shame, when we dey waka to studio, you dey look for fame, two can play the game, first time you go international, mo fo wo mi ran e lo Canada [I paid for your Canada trip], Mr. Living Da loca, 50 Bottles you still dey owe Escape, carry Sisi Yellow, you dey form posh, say my melanin no dey pop.”
However, Tiwa has tweeted to say she’s not shading anyone
“Other male artists don do their own challenge but na my own be sub? … IT IS NOT BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, just a challenge I hate no one and would never disrespect anyone like that. NEVER”
And she didn’t even mention anybody’s name, unlike Victoria Kimani who directly threw shots at various artistes including Tiwa Savage herself, calling them out by their names.
Victoria Kimani accused Tiwa of selling her body to get material things.
“Grandma African Bad Girl, turning 45, still think you’re a bad girl. You can block me from a show but you can’t block my blessings. We all know you’re selling pu**y and it’s so depressing, you’re fucking messy,”
She sang.
Various reactions have trailed after Victoria’s attacking lyrics—her lyrics have literally set the internet ablaze. Here are some reactions to Victoria’s fvck you challenge.
Tiwa appears to have no time or energy to spare in clapping back at Kimani. While Victoria is busy raising dust, Tiwa ‘jejely’ dropped a picture of her new whip.
Simi, on the other hand, has been forced to make a live video in response to the reactions that her fvck you challenge elicited. In her cover of Kizz Daniel’s Fvck You, Simi attacked Yahoo boys and this offended a fan, who then asked her to leave Yahoo boys alone. According to the fan, Simi’s Youtube videos would have fewer views and her songs won’t have sold out that much if not for Yahoo boys.
Simi had to reply immediately to this comment. She posted a video on Instagram asking Yahoo boys to stop buying her songs because that won’t stop her from speaking out against them.
…All of these controversies arising from a song that’s actually about the pain of heartbreak.
