Big Brother Naija’s organizers have revealed that BBNaija 2019 will kick off in June. That is quite strange because by June last year, the 3rd edition of Big Brother Naija had already ended. Auditions for this year’s BBNaija began as early as February, with a massive turn-up across the 8 major cities it took place.
It was expected that the show will kick off not long after the auditions ended but it didn’t due to certain reasons. One of the major reasons being the 2019 Nigerian general elections that were held on February 23, 2019. Politics is usually a very sensitive issue in Nigeria and it might have been catastrophic to mix that up with a sensational show like Big Brother Naija.
Like a Payporte source said,
“…The show itself normally gets twisted so we don’t want to mix it up with politics in any way. Its supposed to be entertaining, we wouldn’t want it to be divisive in any way.”
However, fans already grew tired of waiting and some even concluded that the show has been canceled. Well, it hasn’t and you can add blackouts to whatever you are expecting from the 4th edition of BBnaija because their filming location is not SA this time but Nigeria.
It was also revealed that Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will be hosting the show, making it the third time he will be a host on the show. The slay king has no doubt, stocked his wardrobe with an assortment of fashion wears that will give viewers something to talk about for days.
And what’s it with this year’s theme “Forget Wahala?” Multichoice teased the audience on Friday, May 2 that it will be a possible theme for the reality show this year. Last year’s theme was “Double Wahala” and the wahala they created is still making waves till today. Probably, the wahala of this year’s housemates will overshadow last year’s own. They will make us forget Ceec or Tobi and their wahala—probably.
