Nigeria today is filled with a lot of young people who are desperate to get rich. Most of them do not want to get busy genuinely; they prefer engaging in internet fraud and blaming the government for their unemployment without even trying to do the right thing. When people see a young person, who is genuinely working hard to make ends meet, especially a female, it is very applaudable.
Veteran Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle took Instagram to share her experience with a 24-year-old female uber driver. According to the actress, the Uber driver named Ibukunoluwa is an undergraduate who is motherless. She bought her car on hire purchase, and she hopes to pay it off by her debt by November. Ireti went further to tell Nigerian Youths that life doesn’t have to be fast and furious and you attract helpers by improving your own experience, not by scamming people. See her post below:
Yesterday I called for an uber, and this is who I got..IBUKUNOLUWA. I was intrigued by her, so I spent the ride getting to know her and her back story. Ibukun is 24, very well spoken and a part-time undergrad student. Her mother has passed, and she doesn’t have much of a relationship with her Dad. She attends school three days a week, and on the other days, she’s working as an Uber driver.
She bought her car on hire purchase…she hopes to pay it off by Nov after which the vehicle becomes hers. She’s had to put up with jeers from her peers, but she’s determined not to let that keep her from attaining her goals. A Queen…I stan.
We hope some Nigerian youths who have convinced themselves that internet scam is the only way will learn from this and Ibukun’s story will inspire those who are working hard.
