Ayo Makun
He is popularly known by his stage name A.Y. Ayo is one of the best and most successful comedians in Nigeria. He has had sold out shows back and forth. His show Ay Live which often take place every Easter Sunday is one of the biggest shows in Africa. Celebrities and top people in the society attend that show. Asides comedy, he is a thriving filmmaker who has produced high-grossing Nollywood movies like 30 Days in Atlanta, A Trip To Jamaica, 10 Days In Suncity and Merrymen; The Real Yoruba Demons. AY also featured in Omoni Omobi’s movie Being Mrs. Elliot and Mo Abudu’s The Wedding Party. His new found love for acting didn’t make him abandon his love for comedy. On the 21st of April 2019, he hosted his annual Easter Sunday show at Eko Hotels and Suites and as usual, it was sold out.
Abovi Ugboma
Known as Bovi, is a Nigerian Comedian, actor, and writer. His career began as an actor, writer, and producer of the sitcom Extended Family. At that point, he was working hard on his comedy career. He featured in Nite of a Thousand Laughs, a comedy show which goes way back and was organized by Opa Williams. He also organizes comedy concerts like Bovi Man on Fire which is not just limited to Nigeria. Bovi premiered his first movie It’s Her Day in 2016 which features actors like Ini Dima Okojie, Omoni Oboli, Toni Tones, Amanda Ebeye, Shaffy Bello, Adunni Ade and himself. The movie raked 55 million Niara in the Nollywood Box Office.
Ali Baba
Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome (Ali Baba) is a Nigerian Stand-up Comedian and actor. He came to Lagos after his studies at Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma to hustle as he already discovered that he had a talent in comedy. Things picked up for him pretty soon; he started performing at corporate events in Nigeria and alongside top entertainers. Alibaba featured in his first movie in 1998. He also played the role of Bamidele Coker in Mo Abudu’s The Wedding Party which is the highest grossing movie in the history of the Nigerian cinema. He also has chains of businesses.
Frank Donga
The Delta state born comedian whose career evolved from Unity Theatre Company has not looked back since then. He has worked with top Nigerian comedians like Basketmouth, Bovi, Alibaba, Igosave. Frank is known for his hilarious skits as a job seeker. He is also a Nollywood actor who has static roles; he is always playing a comic role like the role of Harrison the Driver in Mo Abudu’s The Wedding Party.
Wofaifada
Wofai Ewa is a Nigerian comedienne known for her hilarious skits on social media. The celebrity who studied Theatre and Media Studies gained popularity after her skits went viral in 2014. Since then, Wofai has been nothing, but great. She has transitioned from being just an Instagram comedienne to an event host and actress. She has featured in Nollywood hits like New Money, The Wedding Party 2. She is also regular on Basket’s Mouth’s My Flatmates.
